Confirmation, 2011

The All Saints Youth Group is made up of some of the Confirmation students and the parish youth.  They are a very active group.  At their weekly meetings, they not only read Scripture, but they also brainstorm as to how they can help the All Saints community and the surrounding communities.  They have been involved in:
  • Provided lunch for the residents at the Ronald McDonald House.
  • Conducted a fundraiser for a "grandma" who needed eye surgery.
  • Collected food items for the community of Palomas, Mexico.
  • Made care packages for the homeless and delivered them.
  • Collected school supplies for the children of Rusk Elementary School.

One way to beat the heat

The Youth Group was so moved by helping the children at Rusk Elementary that they decided to adopt these children.  The parish provided funds for jackets and the group bought the jackets and delivered them to the school.  Each one of them selected a child and purchased and wrapped a gift for the child based on the child's wishes.  The gifts were delivered to the school on January 6, 2012, on the feast of Epiphany (Three Kings).  This was a very symbolic day for the children of Rusk because just as the Three Kings delivered gifts to baby Jesus, the Youth Group delivered gifts to the children
